I came across an article today on the Straits Times under the lifestyle reflect section by Sumiko Tan.
She said "the past isn't always perfect"
She talked about people often find things of the past seem to be much better than that of the present.Examples of old buildings like the National Library torn down to make way for new buildings. The replacement of the past. She self-confessed that she is one who likes to cling on to the past and like to reminisce. But lately she grew weary to this.Even with oneself trying to relive the memories but it is impossible to bring them back. She touched mostly on the change of the architecture of Singapore and agree with the change that it may bring common good for the people. She said as quoted "...nostalgia does serves it purpose. But when something you treasure has to go,then let it go, don't be a prisoner of your memories...move on,accept the change and even embrace it..who's to say new and better memories cant be born with the change?"
I agree with what was quoted,I feel i have been a prisoner of my memories for some time now,and its time to let it go.
