Last friday, I bought this book I have been wanting to get for the longest time.
Saw the book in TW while I was at the bookstore in Kaohsiung.
It caught my attention but i decided to get it back in Sing cos I already got another book (The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini) from there already.
It is titled The Last Lecture by Randy Pausch. The reviews about this non-fiction book had been very positive and after reading it, I agreed that it was really very good, on par with Mitch Albom's books. =)
" We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand." quoted from Randy Pausch.
This book is about Randy Pausch, a computer science professor who had been diagnosed with terminal cancer and at the same time asked by his college to give the last lecture. He chose to give the last lecture (usually asked to imagine if they are dying what would they choose to talk about and impart to the students?), but in this case he was really terminally ill. The topic he chose to talk about was about really achieving childhood dreams and he himself really did. Even though some dreams are really hard to achieve, he managed to experience every little part to fulfil these dreams. The lessons from the book are everyday life lessons, where sometimes we do not take notice of the little things that goes by, but they play important roles in helping us achieving our dreams and in becoming a better man. This book also talked about his parents, family, children and his friends.
And I feel like visiting Disneyland in the US after reading the book.
This is really a good book to read and once you start reading you cant stop! =)
Make a decision: Tigger or Eeyore
I choose Tigger =)
